Should you always buy the options when you buy a new car?

We get asked this question pretty often when someone’s going to buy a new car and they ask us if they should get all the options or not. They are getting a truck and they want to know if they should get a 4X4 instead of the cheaper 2X4, since they never go off-roading. Do you really need the seat warmers? How about the expensive, at the time, added CarPlay? Leather, nicer upgraded wheels?

Well, the short answer is YES! 100% YES! There is nothing that resells your car like having options, the value of cars plummet for the base models. Look at trucks that are 4X4, even with massive high miles you see them selling in the 5 digits. There are almost NO cars with high miles with 5 digits on the clock worth it, yet I see them every single day, and they are never the base model. The leather interior, the nicer wheels, the louder cooler exhaust, and YES ALWAYS GET THE TURBO!

If you price the options out on the new car, even if you finance them, the options will not only make you enjoy the car more but will give you the most payback when you go to sell the car. Do some research on your own, and look at comparable cars, and price them. Use one of the online car value checkers and just add the options to see the price.

So always get the options, all of them!
